Xhorse FT-OBD Mini: Toyota Key Programming Guide

In this guide, we’ll show you how to add and delete smart keys on a 2017 Toyota Camry using the Xhorse FT-OBD Mini Tool, working together with VVDI Key Tool Max or Key Tool Max Pro.


Since we have the original working key, the process is straightforward. Let’s get started.


Step 1: Connect and Enter Programming Menu

1. Connect the Toyota Mini Tool to the vehicle’s OBD port.

2. On the VVDI Key Tool Max / Max Pro, navigate to:


Select from Model → Camry → Keyless Go → 2013–2017 →

Type 1 (8A – Page P4 88) → Step 3 – Adding Keys → Start Execute → Clear Smart Keys


Step 2: Clear Existing Smart Keys

Follow the on-screen instructions:

Turn the ignition ON (instrument panel lights up).

The system will display:

Number of registered keys: 1

Number of keys remaining to be registered: 6

Press OK.


Next:

Touch the IGNITION (IG) switch with a registered key (logo side facing the switch).

Complete the operation within 30 seconds after pressing OK.


Once finished, you’ll see:

Clear completed!

Step 3: Add a New Smart Key

Now select "Add Smart Keys."

1. Turn the ignition ON again.

2. Press OK.

3. Within 30 seconds, touch the IG switch with a registered key using the marked surface.

The system will display:

Key detected, programming…

Keep the key touching the ignition switch.

Wait until the registration process is fully completed.


After successful programming:

Number of registered keys: 2

Number of keys remaining to be registered: 5

The matching is completed.

Final Check

1. Turn the ignition OFF.

2. Test both smart keys:

Remote functions work normally

Vehicle starts successfully

Collect 2019 Audi Q7 Key Data with MLB Tool & Key Tool Plus

In this article, we’ll demonstrate how to collect key data from a 2019 Audi Q7 using the Xhorse MLB Tool together with the VVDI Key Tool Plus.

Please note that this process requires an online connection and will deduct 200 remote points for data calculation.


Step 1: Enter Immobilizer Programming

On the VVDI Key Tool Plus, follow the path below:

Immo Programming → Audi → Select by Type → MLB Immobilizer Systems → Start Programming


This function requires an active internet connection.

Make sure your network is working properly, then click OK to continue.

Step 2: Connect the MLB Tool

Select the Type 2 Audi/Lamborghini connection diagram.

Carefully solder the circuit board according to the diagram, then connect it to the Xhorse MLB Tool.


After the hardware connection is complete, click “Collect Key Data.”

Step 3: Confirm Data Collection and Point Deduction

The system may display the following message:


Detected that the Key Tool Plus does not read the vehicle information data. Continue to acquire data to save? The immo file will not contain vehicle information.


Select Yes to continue.

Next, choose Collect Original Keys – Points Deduction.


A confirmation prompt will appear:

This calculation will deduct 200 remote points. Do you want to continue?

Select Yes.


Step 4: Collect Key Data

Before collecting data, pay close attention to the following notes:


Important Notes:

1. Connect the acquisition cable to the device exactly as shown in the diagram and place the key flat on the sensing area.

2. Ensure the TOP side of the acquisition cable is facing upward.

3. Align VCC1 with VCC1 and VCC2 with VCC2 correctly.

Once everything is properly positioned, press OK to begin data acquisition.

How to Install and Remove the Xhorse BMW G BDC2 Adapter

This guide explains how to safely install and remove the Xhorse BMW G BDC2 adapter from the vehicle module, ensuring a secure connection and preventing damage.


Part 1: Safe Connection


Step 1: Precise Alignment


Align the three positioning pins on the adapter with the three marked points on the BMW G-chassis BDC2 module.

Make sure each pin matches exactly with the corresponding alignment point. 

Tip: Align them one by one to avoid bending the pins.

Step 2: Press and Lock

Once aligned, press the adapter downward.

Locate the clips on the adapter and lock them in place to ensure a stable connection.

Part 2: Safe Removal


1. Unlock the clips on the adapter.

2. Place the BMW G-chassis BDC2 module on a clean, flat surface to keep it steady.

3. Using both hands, press evenly on both sides of the module.

4. The pin header will pop up smoothly and disconnect from the adapter.

5. Lift the adapter straight up to remove it completely.

Repair BMW XEQ384 FRM Module Using Xhorse VVDI PROG

When all FRM (Footwell Module) functions on a BMW stop working, the issue is often caused by corrupted FRM data. In this guide, we’ll walk through how to repair a BMW XEQ384 FRM module using the Xhorse VVDI PROG.

Step 1: Remove the FRM Module


First, remove the FRM module from the vehicle. This allows us to read, edit, and write the data safely on the bench.

Step 2: Backup FRM Data

Connect the FRM Module

Follow the official wiring diagram to connect the FRM module to VVDI PROG.

VVDI PROG Settings

In the VVDI PROG software, select:

Type: 8 – OTHER

Brand: BMW

Chip: FRM-E-SERIES-XEQ384-READ

Once the connection is successful, proceed with data backup.


Read and Save Data

Read and save the D-FLASH file

Read and save the P-FLASH file


After backing up:

Clear faults

Edit the D-FLASH file

Prepare the corrected file for writing

Note: You may use a third-party paid service to correct the D-FLASH file if needed.

Step 3: Write Data Back to the FRM

1. Select FRM-E-SERIES-XEQ384-WRITE in VVDI PROG

2. Load the corrected EEPROM file

3. Click Write

4. Wait for the Writing Success confirmation

Once completed, reinstall the FRM module into the BMW.

After installation:

Recheck all FRM functions

Confirm lights, windows, and related systems are working normally
