Xhorse VVDI2 make key for BMW FEM "error ID:9" Solution

Problem:

I could not make the keys to the BMW F15 with Xhorse VVDI2. I must say that there was no access to the car, since it was far away and available only to the BDC and the ISN with ECU.

BDC SWFL 00002419_052_010_030

This version of the SWFL is not supported in the VVDI2 and asks to upgrade the BDC.

However, I was unable to perform a BDC upgrade using E-SYS on a table without a car, error: error ID:9 - Vehicle not in state Pruefen_Analyse_Diagnose / ignition not activated (clamp 15 off). The test platform has an ignition contact in the dashboard connector, closing the contacts in the dashboard connector did nothing (I don't have a dashboard and access to the car)

Has anyone done BDC/FEM programming with E-SYS on a table without a car? What I need for programming BDC/FEM with E-SYS on the table? Connecting the dashboard will allow performing programming?

And the Xhorse makes support for this old version of SWFL, I am silent about the SWFL version after the ISTA 4.28.32 update.

vvdi2-fem-01

vvdi2-fem-02

Solution:

Option 1:

Had one FEM from F20 with the exact problem. Usually error: error ID:9 - Vehicle not in state Pruefen_Analyse_Diagnose / ignition not activated (clamp 15 off) means that you need to connect Xhorse ELV to get ignition on for programming with ESYS.

Option 2: Esys require "ignition on" to proceed through programming - this is nothing to do with the ELV. It won't start the process otherwise. Things like CGDI or Yanuhua or something, they are bypassing the requirements going through anyway. When it fails then may be a problem to recover.

Esys is much more reliable and never fails but won't help you sometimes when AKL.

Option 3: When using ISTA it forces ignition on, and then you can plug in enet cable and flash using e-sys.

This is how I did it a long time ago when playing around with some spare FEMs.

->>> And someone feedback: I have tried this one couple of FEM modules - Does not work!!!

Please try one by one according to your situation, any question, please contact at www.xhorse.co.uk.

Fixed! W230 EIS renew problem with Xhorse VVDI MB BGA Tool

Problem: I did the stupid mistake to renew a W230 EIS (customer vehicle), because someone else wanted to enter the VIN (he had problems in Xentry/DAS).

I first saved the EIS Data in both provided formats with xhorse BGA Tool, and clicked on renew EIS.

This was successful and the EIS is now unpersonalized. Now neither can I write a VIN (no OBD communication) nor can rewrite the state back to the chip.

And all the keys are disabled (see attachment). Now I can't even start the engine (the owner will soon be mad at me).

The MCU is Motorla SC510108CFU (4J74Y). Could not be read by VVDI prog. Tried with Immobilizer->BENZ->EIS-W230(4J74Y)

Resoldered wires 5 times, tried to read countless times.

Part number: 2305450508

I have another used EIS with a bit different part number and the ST12 1L59W Chipset, but I wasn't able to retrieve the Key password out of it.

Partnumber: 2305452308

I managed to read the used EIS. All bins from BGA Tool and VVDI Prog are in the attachment (Including VIN)

after_Renew-vvdi-mb-01

after_Renew-vvdi-mb-02

Finally solved!

I was able to write the VIN and EIS data back on the bench. Worked like a charm after connecting VCC, GND, and K-Line (the blue alligator clip on VVDI MB BGA TOOL OBD cable make so much sense now)

How To:

 1. Connect EIS directly to OBD by enhancing my already existing bench cable set (W230 was missing) with pin cable from my old Arduino days

 2. Typed in VIN and wrote it via OBD (not possible over IR) to the EIS --> Successful

 3. Loaded backup EIS data and wrote it back to EIS via IR

 4. Read EIS Data again to verify that "Personalized" is checked and the previous keys are "used"

 5. To activate the EIS (last checkbox), go to "Other Function->Customer Request->Set Type to W230(K)->click on connect" when connection successful, click on the "Activate EIS" Button. Repeat "Connect" but if it fails and checks your wiring.

 6. Read EIS Data again and verify that "Activated" is checked as well.

 7. Try to turn existing programmed keys -> they should turn now

 8. Reassemble EIS to the car and start the engine

Hop helps!

How does Xhorse Dolphin XP007 Cut 206 Dimple Key?

Hey guys, this article will show you how to cut high security 206 dimple keyway keys using the Xhorse Dolphin XP-007, it's going to be really quick, super simple.

xhorse-dolphin-xp007-cut-206-dimple-key-01

Come with me let's get it done, in order to get started cutting high-security dimple keys in your Dolphin XP-007 today, you'll first need to purchase the keyless factory universal high-security cutter and decoder set for dimple keys,  it comes with four of the bits that you're going to need to do this job, the multi-lock 100 and 103 tracer as well as the multi-lock 90C and 93c cutters.

xhorse-dolphin-xp007-cut-206-dimple-key-02

It's already set up here in the Dolphin XP-007 is our regard blank for the 206 dimple keyway and we have our original. I've already put in the 100 guides on the right side here, you wanna start with a 90c cutter, they are going to be your inner dimple cutters. We are going to make sure that our 100 tracer is perfectly aligned, if you look inside this little plunger area there's a little pointed tip, that's our actual probe, make sure that's the first part to touch the surface during your calibration, and then come back and loosen up this one to match for the 90C cutter and turn it on and get to our first cuts. So the point of this little tip here, little plunger tip there is that it lines up with the actual dimple. So Make sure straight with it before, so as soon as it settles in you then pull down and it will only go as far as that tip your reach.

Turn it off, loosen it up, tap it off, let it back in there lined up to the shoulder, start again, make sure your pressure is nice and gentle on these cuts you don't want to overdo, you push down and cut straight through that will be disastrous, so key's still in we're gonna go ahead and remove the 190c guide and cutter.

xhorse-dolphin-xp007-cut-206-dimple-key-11

xhorse-dolphin-xp007-cut-206-dimple-key-12

So now after we've done, our first cuts were going to install our 93c cutter and 103 guides on the right side, put it in here, touch down, so now they're already lined up, I'm gonna go ahead and turn it back on.

Power down, go ahead and flip it over, back in place lined up to the shoulder. Now that we have it in nice and tight everything still meets, we're gonna go ahead and try cutting again.

xhorse-dolphin-xp007-cut-206-dimple-key-16

xhorse-dolphin-xp007-cut-206-dimple-key-17

Look at our key, all right so we got out guard cylinder here, key inserted that we just cut and we got ourselves a turn, bang boom.

xhorse-dolphin-xp007-cut-206-dimple-key-18

That was it the combination of the keels factory, dimple cutters and guides with the Xhorse Dolphin XP007, made it really easy and possible to cut these 206 simple keyways which worked quite well.

How To Use Xhorse VVDI Mini Prog To Read EEPROM?

How to read an 8-legged EEPROM using the Xhorse VVDI Mini Prog & Xhorse app? Now I’m going to take a Bosch ECU which is an ST95040 EEPROM as an example.

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-1

Connect Mini Prog with the Xhorse app via Bluetooth.

Take off the outer case of ECU, go to

EEPROM and FLASH >> ST >> M95XXX >> M95040(pressure)

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-2

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-3

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-4

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-5

There are total of 3 head adapters in the Mini Prog Box, you can see the number on top. It shows here to use No.3 head, so what I have to do is to remove the pre-loaded head and install the No.3 head.

(Note: align the pin to install head, just twist to secure into place.)

Put the clip head over the top of EEPROM, press the pressure down.

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-6

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-7

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-8

Go to the Xhorse app, press

Read >> EEPROM >> Start operation >> Continue

Note: please DO NOT remove Mini Prog during processing.

At this time, the Mini Prog top screen will show “OK”.

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-9

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-10

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-11

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-12

Rename >> OK (selected “save & edit” will go to edit in next step)

Reading & saving file completed.

You can find the saved EEPROM data in “File management >> Local file”.

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-13

use-xhorse-vvdi-mini-prog-to-read-st95040-eeprom-14

Moreover, buy Mini Prog + All Solder-Free Adapters will be much efficient when programming. It allows reading data without soldering, no need to dismantle any devices or cut wires. Extremely offering convenience for each mechanic.
